Roasted garlic heads

Roasted Garlic

I was in Chinatown last week and picked up some garlic. It was super cheap for the package. It was only $1 for 5 heads of garlic! I didn’t really know what I was going to use all that garlic for but I figured I’d come up with something. Then it hit me! I could make some roasted garlic!
Roasting garlic is super simple. I love it in mashed potatoes or for garlic bread. It would be great on pizza as well. I’m not too sure what else I could use it for though. Maybe a dip or something? Anyone have any suggestions?
Roasted Garlic
3 heads of garlic (Or as few or many as you want)
Pepper
Olive oil
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Slice the heads of garlic in half, making sure to keep both sides intact. Place your garlic halves in foil and drizzle with olive oil.

Sprinkle with fresh ground black pepper.

Place the tops back onto the bottoms.

Wrap up the foil tightly and make a bundle. Place on a baking pan.

Bake for about 1 hour or until the cloves of garlic are slightly brown.

  1. I have made roasted garlic many times, I love it…ok I just simply love garlic. My husband teases me and tells me I am going to turn into a giant garlic some day.

  2. Roasted garlic is so good! I like to just spread it on some bread or toast. I while ago I made a roasted garlic hummus that was nice.
